From the Ground Up is a professional development and learning program developed in conjunction with the Early Learning and Care Council of Australia (ELACCA) and Queensland University of Technology in 2021. The program is designed for participants to enrol in pairs with one participant being an experienced leader and one being an emerging leader. Participants are immersed in leadership modules over a period of 6 months with 12, 2-hour online university-like learning workshops and 12 x 1-hour coaching and mentoring sessions. Participants also undertake an action research project within their services, which provides them with an opportunity to put into action the theory participants have been engaging with throughout the program.
