Join us on Tuesday 8 February 2022 for Safer Internet Day!
With so much of our time spent online, staying safe online is one of the most important challenges of our time. Developing positive online behaviours is essential for people of all ages and it has never been more important to promote the safe use of technology, build digital skills and help all children and families have safer, more positive experiences online.
Professor Kerryann Walsh from the Centre for Child and Family Studies has worked in partnership with the eSafety Commissioner to develop a best practice framework for online safety education for Australian Schools. The stage one report investigated what constitutes best practice in online safety for school-aged children. While the stage two report worked in consultation with a range of stakeholders to test and refine the Framework.
To show the world that online abuse and harmful content have no place in our society, the Centre for Child and Family Studies supports the work of The eSafety Commissioner on Safer Internet Day 2022. The Safer Internet Day raises awareness about online safety for people of all ages and is celebrated in 170 countries. Please join us in helping to raise online safety awareness at home, school, work and in the community.
Through simple actions like being safe, respectful and kind – we can all #PlayitFairOnline. For more information, you visit esafety.gov.au/sid to sign up and learn more about this day.
