Jennifer Fraser has been Associate Professor in Nursing at the University of Sydney since 2010. Her research activities support the relationship between research, policy and practice in paediatric and child health nursing. She studies ways to prevent child abuse and neglect, build capacity of health professionals to detect and respond to child maltreatment, reduce child behaviour problems and improve paediatric and child health care nationally and internationally. Her research in the area of child maltreatment prevention has contributed to ongoing implementation of home visit programs throughout Australia as well as developing health workforce capacity within Australia and internationally.

Jennifer is lead author of two Australian paediatric nursing textbooks used widely across Australia. She has published extensively in the fields of Paediatric and Child Health Nursing and Midwifery since completing a PhD at Griffith University in 2000 (a full list of publications is accessible at http://sydney.edu.au/nursing/staff/profiles/jennifer.fraser.php).  She currently holds two large research grants for work in New South Wales and Queensland where she conducts most of her studies. In recent years she has taken her research and teaching expertise to Vietnam and Brazil and published with her collaborators in these countries. She is also Associate Editor of Child Abuse & Neglect, the leading international journal.
