Social impact

We are committed to conducting rigorous research to advance scientific knowledge about important issues. We also understand the importance of engaging with governments, professions and the community to make sure our research can be translated into useful outcomes, both in Australia and overseas. Our members have a very strong record of engaging with a variety of end-users so that our research produces tangible benefits for society. These benefits include influencing new legal and regulatory frameworks, informing new policy in educational and health sectors, enhancing professional development and educational frameworks for professionals who deal with children, and improving the health and safety of children. Our members have received formal awards and institutional recognition for the impact of their research, and we continue to prioritise this area of our work. We welcome the opportunity to liaise with end user groups from government, professional and private sectors to discuss how our research may be of use.
