We are a group of multidisciplinary researchers within the QUT Centre for Child Health and Wellbeing with decades of experience in high quality research and impact at national and international levels.

We conduct research analysing:

  • the nature and prevalence of childhood adversities (including all forms of child abuse and neglect)
  • developmental, familial and social adversities and new forms of adverse experiences such as online violence and trauma
  • child health, developmental, economic and social consequences through the lifespan
  • the design, implementation and monitoring of measures to prevent, identify and respond to such adversities, including the use of co-designed digital platforms to enable help-seeking and service delivery.

We conduct large funded projects, and commissioned work for government and industry. We have a strong record of translating scientific discoveries to create real impact and socio-economic benefits for the community.
