Project description

The Tiwi community is one of the Australian Indigenous groups living in the northern part of Darwin and isolated from the mainland for about 10,000 years. And they are experiencing a high burden rate of Chronic kidney disease. My research study involves identifying the variants associated with renal function/kidney disease using robust statistical methods. This study also involves the development of a polygenic risk score (PRS) specific to the Tiwi population to predefine/identify the risk set of individuals.
