Project description
The purpose of the project is to uncover new genes and epigenetic biomarkers associated with stress- related mental health outcomes among University students. The project investigates mental health outcomes such as symptoms of depression, symptoms of anxiety and symptoms of PTSD as well as positive psychological outcomes such as resilience and post-traumatic growth.
Short biography
Shruthi completed her medical training in India and worked with the World Health Organisation and the Central Government of India. She has worked in medical education with medical students and interns which inspired her to investigate the genomic underpinnings of mental health among University students. She enjoys community theatre and creative writing when she has the time.
