Madeliene Turner

HDR Candidate

Project title

Genomic Markers and Psychological Health Trajectories of Risky Drinking Behaviour

Supervisory Team

Principal Supervisor: Associate Professor Divya Mehta
External Supervisor: Adjunct Professor Ross Young

Project description

Madeliene’s project investigates the genomics underlying alcohol consumption, problematic drinking, psychosocial stress, and mood problems in veterans comparing those who have PTSD to those who do not. The main aims are to determine any differential genetic outcomes and to determine biomarkers of alcohol interacting with stress and PTSD in this high stress exposed group.
