Project title
Development of Treatment-responsive models for neurodegeneration
Supervisory Team
Principal Supervisor: Associate Professor Larisa Haupt
Associate Supervisors: Distinguished Professor Lyn Griffiths, Dr Rachel Okolicsanyi
Project description
Duy’s project involves using the cell and stem cell populations, microscopic techniques, and pull-down assays to identify novel pathological factors transporting cell-to-cell via tunnelling nanotubes that cause Alzheimer’s. In addition to this, he is developing tunnelling nanotubes’ biomarker and isolation techniques in neuronal cell and stem cell populations to further test these pathological factor.
Short Biography
After graduating from Technological University Dublin with a first-class honours Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Duy keeps chasing his dream to be a scientist by expanding his knowledge and skillset of cell and molecular biology as a Ph.D. candidate.
