I am a synthetic-medicinal chemist working with the Cancer and Ageing Research Program (CARP) to design novel compounds for treating cancer and other age-related diseases such as Alzheimer’s Disease. I completed my undergraduate degrees in organic chemistry with a strong focus on medicinal chemistry. During my PhD candidature I worked on the development of novel therapeutics to treat leukaemia and explored the total synthesis of a natural product to be used in the treatment of cancer and ageing. My research interests also include preparing semi-synthetic drugs derived from nature to prepare novel therapeutics.
