Scoping Study of Circles of Support and Accountability (CoSA) and other child sexual abuse-related post-custodial community reintegration programs

Circles of Support and Accountability (CoSA) and other child sexual abuse-related post-custodial community reintegration programs

The project will conduct a scoping study to inform the design and implementation of a pilot program to prevent child sexual abuse re-offending, modelled on Circles of Support and Accountability (CoSA) and other child sexual abuse-related post-custodial community reintegration programs. The project adopts a range of methods including: qualitative interviews with perpetrators of sexual violence; victim/survivors of sexual violence; program staff and international experts on CoSA and related approaches to reintegrating perpetrators of child sexual abuse; and consultation with a wide range of relevant communities (eg Indigenous, CALD, LGBTQIA+).

The project is being funded by the National Office for Child Safety (Attorney-General’s Department) as part of implementing recommendations stemming from the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
