Disaster and environmental justice focussing on the role of societies and governing structures in creating, perpetuating and addressing vulnerabilities, inequalities, and injustices that are magnified by natural hazards and climate change.
Disaster justice can be applied to all phases of the Prevention—Preparedness—Response—Recovery (PPRR) disaster cycle spectrum and links environmental rights and human rights, recognising that the impacts of climate change are not evenly distributed across societies.
