QUT Centre for Justice member Professor Christine Morley continues to gain impact in research around unpaid work placements – or ‘placement poverty’.
As part of a research team, Professor Morley has been researching the current financial burden on students required to complete long, and mostly unpaid, social work placements.
Following on from previous reported impact on this issue, Professor Morley has authored another article in The Conversation, It is impossible for me to be unpaid: 3 ways to fix student work placements, which considers possible ways to address the ongoing issue of compulsory unpaid work placements.
Professor Morley was also interviewed on ABC Radio Brisbane on 22 September 2023 around the issue and implications of unpaid work placements. Listen here.
