Dr. Thusyanthy (Thusi) Lavan, an Associate Lecturer in the School of Advertising, Marketing, and Public Relations, holds aa PhD in Marketing from QUT, earned in 2022. Prior to her tenure at QUT, Thusi amassed over a decade of teaching experience as a Full-time Lecturer in Marketing and Associate Lecturer at two esteemed state universities in Sri Lanka. Currently, she is immersed in cutting-edge research, exploring domains such as scale development, social media marketing, consumer behavior, and digital marketing. Her scholarly contributions extend beyond the classroom, as evidenced by her authorship of peer-reviewed articles and presentations at international conferences, including the Academy of Marketing Science, 23rd World Marketing Congress, the American Marketing Association 11th SERVSIG and ANZMAC Mid-Year Doctoral Colloquium. In recognition of her outstanding achievements, Thusi was honored as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) in 2020, underscoring her commitment to excellence in education.

In the realm of research, Thusi is actively involved in a diverse array of projects, showcasing a keen focus on credibility and consumer behavior. Her multifaceted portfolio encompasses ongoing work in areas such as brand credibility and sustainable products, scale development, knowledge transfer in B2B customer relationship development, self-regulation and AI, morality’s role in consumer perceptions of brand credibility, and the impact of consumer involvement in sustainable practices on brand trust and purchase intention.
