Dr Janine Lay

Post Doctoral Research Fellow

Dr Janine’s research examines how experts from different disciplines co-create new knowledge for innovations and how those innovations are taken up. My work with the CFE explores how external enablers including technologies, business models and mega trends, are engaged with, translated and taken up by new and existing firms. This work follows on from my previous work at QUT, exploring and modelling innovation in the mining industry and is informed by my recent PhD, ‘An exploration of Knowledge creation processes in Open Innovation’. In that research, I took a practice-based approach to knowledge and developed a processual model of knowledge creation in open innovation. This is my second career after an earlier PhD in Physical Chemistry and work in and between the mining industry and university research.
