Paradox expert, Prof. Wendy Smith visits from the USA

This week, the CFE Paradox team had the pleasure of attending an insightful workshop and a Brown Bag Research Seminar led by Prof. Wendy Smith.

The workshop explored the art of theorizing through a paradox lens and was hosted by Prof. Paula Jarzabkowski at the UQ Business School.

Prof. Wendy Smith is the Dana J. Johnson Professor of Business at the University of Delaware. She is a renowned scholar in the field of paradox research. Her highly influential and seminal paper co-authored with Marianne Lewis ‘Toward a theory of paradox: a dynamic equilibrium model of organizing’ received the 2021 Decade Award from the Academy of Management. Wendy’s ongoing contributions to the field continue to inspire and advance the study of paradoxes, and our own research.
