A new series co-organised by CFE, Research Portfolio and Office of Industry Engagement was successfully launched on Monday 26th July.
The concept of the QUT Reverse Pitch is that industry leaders come to QUT and pitch complex real- world scenarios that require a deeper exploration by a diverse group of QUT researchers, inspire new research questions and lead to relevant impact and attract external funding. Reverse Pitch is intended to spark new research opportunities that the industry member may partner with QUT for competitive research grant funding from the federal government through an ARC Linkage Grant. The diagram below outlines conceptually how the QUT Reverse Pitch is intended to work:
The first speaker in this series was Louise Dudley, CEO of Urban Utilities. Louise presented two opportunities for collaborative research, which our researchers have started collaborating on. Our next meeting with Urban Utilities is set for the 22nd September, where our researcher will pitch solutions to their challenges.
