A/Prof Wasana Bandara

Congratulations Wasana Bandara (School of Information Systems), Wasana has been promoted to the level of an Associate Professor. 

Dr Wasana Bandara is a tenured Associate Professor at the School of Information Systems School, Faculty of Science, Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane Australia. She is the co-leader of the Enfranchising Enterprise program hosted by QUT’s Centre for Future Enterprise and is the Director for Higher Degree Research at the School of Information Systems.

She has researched in a broad range of topics such as Process Modelling, Enterprise Systems, Shared Services, Information Systems (IS)/ Business Process Management (BPM) education. More recently her research is focused on holistic approaches to organisational operational excellence, human-centric designs for business process management, and enterprise value creation that enables financial, economic and social outcomes. She is also globally recognised for learning and teaching innovation in her field and for her qualitative research methods expertise.

She completed her PhD in 2007 and was the winner of the Australian Council of Professors and Heads of Information Systems (ACPHIS) Information Systems Doctoral Thesis Award. She has since supervised 18 research students, two who have also won this same prestigious award. Wasana has over 130 fully peer reviewed papers at well ranked outlets, and deep expertise with co-creating knowledge with academic and industry partnerships. She has received numerous awards and recognitions at international, national, and institutional levels for her excellence in Research, Education and Research Training, and Service
