About us

The Centre for Environment and Society is a QUT University Research Centre that strives to deliver research innovation and impact for a more environmentally sustainable and resilient planet. The Centre brings together QUT’s research capabilities in climate change, biodiversity conservation, community & infrastructure resilience, and sustainable production and consumption to find new solutions to current and future global challenges. The Centre adopts a strong multidisciplinary approach needed for transformational change, drawing on QUT’s capabilities across all five Faculties. By integrating diverse knowledge systems, spanning the natural, physical, and social sciences, economics, humanities, law, arts, and design, we critically confront the causes of environmental harm and co-create transformative solutions for people and nature.
