Laura holds an iMove CRC Scholarship and QUT International HDR Tuition Fee Sponsorship to undertake her research at the School of Psychology & Counselling. Her research project aims to design safe and equitable interactions between Cooperative and automated vehicles (CAVs) and Vulnerable road users (VRUs) to ensure that each other’s intent and behaviour are fair and safe. This will help close the gap in vulnerabilities that VRUs experience today and could experience in the future. Laura is an industrial Engineer and MPhil in Industrial Engineering from Universidad del Norte (Colombia). Currently, she is a full-time lecturer in engineering management at the Universidad Tecnológica de Bolívar (Colombia). She has served as the chair of the Industrial Engineering Program at the same University (2017-2018). Her research interests are human factors engineering, work design, safety engineering and justice.
