Catapult 2020-21: Identification of root causes of false substation faults from the records in various data logs, and the assessment of false rates with Powerlink Queensland

False outage notifications in power systems that do not involve a true primary asset fault or failure are usually due to secondary equipment malfunction and can result in unnecessary costs to utility providers and customers. Using Powerlink databases, this project aims to develop a platform that provides a dashboard for failure rate analysis and evaluation,  and incorporates machine learning processes that will help utility providers identify false faults and their root cause.
