Research Discipline
- Chemistry
Areas of Expertise
- Synthetic Polymer Chemistry
- Free Radical Chemistry
- Photochemistry
Research Area My research program to date has been underpinned by a strong background in both synthetic and physical polymer and radical chemistry. I have particular expertise in the field of macromolecular chemistry where light is utilized both as a reporter and stimulus. These projects have included the monitoring of radical degradation of polymers via oxidative pathways through fluorescence and chemiluminescence, synthesis of complex macromolecular structure using photo-triggered cycloadditions, and light driven controlled radical polymerisation. Selected Research Projects
- Photo-triggered Orthogonal Modification of Polymers and Surfaces
- Modification of Carbon Surfaces with Polymers and Electro-active Materials
- Thermal, pH, Redox and Radical Sensitive Fluorescent Macromolecules
- Nanosensors for drug delivery and imaging
- Photosensitive Alkoxyamines for Nitroxide Mediated Photo-Polymerisation
