PhD Overview

Using distribution system state estimation (DSSE) in active distribution systems is a challenging task due to demand and supply uncertainties. High levels of unmonitored photovoltaic (PV) generation within the area will bias the DSSE since it violates the white noise assumption in all state estimation techniques. In this project, we try to design a new PV-based DSSE technique to estimate the voltage in current distribution networks with limited measurement devices. The proposed method is validated using the real data set provided by Australia’s distribution network.
