Winner of the 2022 Tracey Bretag Prize for Academic Integrity

Congratulations to Dr Sam Cunningham, Dr Sarah Dart, Dr Edmund Pickering, Rick Somers, and Sheona Thomson, who together with Dr Caslon Chua of Swinburne University have won the 2022 Tracey Bretag Prize for Academic Integrity for their innovative software tool called UPASS that detects academic misconduct and aims to prevent it before it occurs.

“This prize is a testament to the hard work of the team, but also to the growing momentum QUT has in tackling academic misconduct”, says Dr Pickering.  “As highlighted by TEQSA, this is a national priority, and QUT leading the charge.”

This is the leading national award for innovations to advanced academic integrity practice. The UPASS tool has already been trialled in six institutions and in the coming weeks will be released free for Australian universities. Read more.  Read the tweet.
