Transitioning from an HDR student and an early career researcher to an independent researcher is an exciting and challenging time in an academic career. The CBT Lunch Club gathers researchers to discuss various topics and to hear about others’ career journeys.
The April CBT Lunch Club offered our community both new insights and an opportunity to network with colleagues. Thank you, Katherine Theobald and Karen Cavu, GRE+D for sharing useful career advice with our ECRs and MCRs.
Big congratulations, Dr Markus Laubach to the CBT Outstanding HDR Award in April 2023 (pictured above).
Nominated by D/Prof Dietmar W Hutmacher with the motivation:
Markus has demonstrated excellence as a PhD student, rightfully making him worthy of this Award. Coming to the end of his PhD, Markus efficiently synthesized his work and prepared in a short amount of time three publication drafts which he has just submitted to journals. Once published these outputs will add on to further outputs he had already achieved for his very successful thesis by publication.
Practice research talks:
The April research talks were delivered by PhD Candidates Agathe Bessot and Anu Koikalethu. The session was chaired by PhD Candidate Luke Hipwood.
Our Lunch Club sessions are arranged by Dr Jacqui McGovern and Dr Nathalie Bock, CBT Internal Engagement Leads.
