The Bridge and BridgeTech Industry Fellowships Program was an industry placement program focused on training Australia’s medical technology, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and digital health sectors. The program was funded by MTPConnect’s $32 million Researcher Exchange and Development within Industry (REDI) initiative, made possible by the Medical Research Future Fund. The fund provided industry experiences and skills development for early and mid-career researchers, clinicians and innovators to develop an industry ready workforce keeping pace with the demands of a rapidly changing sector.As one of ten recipients of this Fellowship, I received a $10,000 to fund my industry placement for a 5 weeks at the MedTech company Stryker. I spent 3 weeks at Stryker Trauma in Kiel, Germany and 2 weeks at their Additive Manufacturing facility in Cork, Ireland.
