Dr. Mahrokh Khakzar is a Research Associate at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). She joined QUT and CARRS-Q in January 2016, where she has conducted extensive research on various multidisciplinary projects with a particular emphasis on big data analysis, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and image and video processing for the transport government and the rail industry.
In 2019, she was awarded the BMW grant to attend the BMW summer school, where her team received the BMW Best Start-up Pitch Award. Her PhD research focused on the design and development of a contextualised interaction-aware trajectory prediction system. Following the completion of her PhD, she has remained dedicated to advancing her research in intelligent transportation systems and road safety.
Her primary research interests encompass the following areas:
- Intelligent transportation systems (ITS)
- Remote operation systems
- Application of AI in road safety
- Advance Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS)
