Jorge is a Postdoc Research Fellow for the Chair in Empathic Machines project. He has a background in mechatronics with a bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, specialising in Mechatronics. His expertise spans multiple disciplines, including naturalistic driving studies, data acquisition, processing, and visualisation. Jorge’s collaborative spirit has led him to contribute to projects across renowned academic institutions such as Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Technical University of Munich, University of Leeds, Loughborough University, and Cornell Tech. His industry experience includes project collaboration with global leaders like Autoliv, Ford Mexico, Continental, and Seeing Machines. With a passion for exploring and visualising data through code, coupled with his multifaceted background and technical skills, Jorge’s research interests encompass human-computer interaction, machine learning, data analysis, computer vision, and robotics. His work continues to push the boundaries of road safety and human-centred applications, combining academic rigor with practical industry insights to drive innovation for informing the design of intelligent transport systems.
