Road safety messaging trial and evaluation

Customers who would usually receive forms advising implications of committing double demerit point offences and accumulation of demerit points will instead be issued with a form that will, in addition to the form’s current licensing content, include speed safety messaging.

This project implemented an evaluation methodology devised by CARRS-Q. The ‘new notice’ on the recipients’ speeding attitudes and behaviours, enabled an evaluation of the impact of the amended notices. The measures of message effectiveness, including impacts upon behaviour, were assessed by self-reported responses to an online survey.
