PhD Research: Modelling company financial influences on heavy vehicle safety outcomes

While the number of crashes involving heavy vehicles has been decreasing in Australia, the current number of fatalities of both industry members and the public is still significant. Research  suggested that the financial performance of a logistics and transport company is likely to have a major contribution to its safety performance. This suggestion had not been sufficiently tested.

This research, conducted by PhD Scholar, Wonmongo Soro, evaluated how Australian logistics and transport companies’ financial performance affected safety performance and investigated factors likely to influence that relationship.
