The City of Gold Coast commissioned CARRS-Q to develop road safety messaging for Gold Coast youth aged 16-24. This age group represented almost 60% of casualties in crashes for the period 2013-18.
The project:
- Identify road safety issues among all road users in the 16-24 age group
- Develop contemporary, effective Gold Coast-specific road safety messaging that the City can implement through its communications delivery channels
The project implemented Action 1.8 of the Gold Coast Road Safety Plan:
Investigate youth road safety issues and identify the range and mix of best practice road safety interventions and/or approaches targeting young adults which could be implemented on the Gold Coast.
