Development of road safety messaging for Gold Coast youth aged 16-24

The City of Gold Coast has commissioned CARRS-Q to develop road safety messaging for Gold Coast youth aged 16-24. This age group represented almost 60% of casualties in crashes for the period 2013-18.

The aims of the project are:

  • To identify road safety issues among all road users in the 16-24 age group
  • To develop contemporary, effective Gold Coast specific road safety messaging that the City can implement through its communications delivery channels

The project implements Action 1.8 of the Gold Coast Road Safety Plan:

Investigate youth road safety issues and identify the range and mix of best practice road safety interventions and/or approaches targeting young adults which could be implemented on the Gold Coast.
