Across Australia, a wide range of community-based LDMPs operate to assist young, disadvantaged learner drivers to gain supervised on-road driving experience, through co-ordinated access to vehicles and supervisors. However, the lack of evaluations of LDMPs in Australia has meant that there is limited evidence from which to guide the development of best-practice.
This project identified current best-practice involving LDMPs, their component parts, and the successful elements needed for such programs to be both effective and sustainable. In addition, this project made this information available in an easy format to community service organisations wanting to operate LDMPs.
