This project will provide evidence to inform the development of countermeasures to reduce the personal, social and economic impacts of road fatalities and serious injuries. It involves data linkage and analyses of Queensland coronial reports on fatal crashes and an additional embedded examination of the fatal crashes in which people survive.
The aim of the research project is to develop and analyse a linked database of Queensland urban, regional, rural and remote fatal crashes using the Queensland Coroner’s Reports that include police (crash investigation) reports, toxicology reports and autopsy findings as well as linked data from hospital, ambulance and retrieval services.
