The amount of water available to be added to the milling train to aid extraction is limited. As such, the available water should be added when it has the greatest benefit to extraction. It is common in Australian factories to vary added water rate with cane fibre rate. This project aims to determine an algorithm to maximise extraction based on cane quality given the limited amount of water.
This project is being undertaken in collaboration with Tully Sugar Limited under a Small Milling Research Project funded by Sugar Research Australia.
