Dylan Bowman is a current PhD student at QUT.

He earned his Bachelor of Biotechnology, majoring in microbial biotechnology from the University of Queensland in 2022. During his degree, he partook in several research endeavors, including a year of honours research in the former Hall lab (now Peters lab), for which he was awarded a first class. During this year of research, he investigated the ability of flaviviral proteins to suppress and avoid RNA interference systems and attempted to develop a line of C6/36 cells with competent RNA interference using CRISPR/Cas-9.

Following his honours, he worked for over a year as a research assistant in the Peters lab where he developed a protein production platform based on baculovirus for flaviviral proteins and humanised important antibodies in flavivirus research and healthcare.

In January 2024, he began his PhD in the Waterhouse lab under the supervision of Dr Julia Bally, investigating oral delivery of plant-produced compounds.
