The Centre for Burns and Trauma Research Group was well represented at the Annual Children’s Health Precinct HDR Student Symposium on 29 August 2019. Honorary Research Fellow, Dr Anjana Bairagi gave a poster presentation titled “A systematic review of the efficacy of non-cultured autologous epithelial cell suspensions for management of partial thickness thermal injuries and split thickness autograft donor sites”. Anjana’s research continues to gain momentum in evaluating Spray-on Skin for the management of partial thickness burn injuries in children. MPhil Student, Raymond Quan presented his poster titled “Burn wound progression: a histological analysis of the mechanisms responsible”, his research investigates the pathological processes that contribute to damage progression after the burn injury. Raymond was also on the symposium’s organising committee as the only QUT representative. The Symposium once again was a success in showcasing the high calibre of higher degree research currently being conducted.
