Olivia has a background in tissue culture and graduated with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science Honours and is currently undertaking a PhD with the Queensland University of Technology. Commencing in May 2019, Olivia’s project aims to develop a new cell therapy to advance burns treatment using a dermal replacement matrix. This matrix will be used to develop a skin substitute that mimics and is as effect as a skin graft for burn wound treatment.
