Prof Peter Pivonka met Prof Wafa Skalli at Les Arts et Métiers Paris Tech, France in June 2019. Peter presented his work “Coupling high resolution bone imaging with micro finite element analysis to assess local bone adaptation – insights from the mouse tibia loading model”. BSRG has had longstanding collaborations with Prof Skalli’s group working on various aspects in spine biomechanics and spine deformity. Prof Skalli and the research team at Arts et Métiers Paris Tech developed and commercialised the biplanar EOS imaging system (yellow structure at back of photo). EOS is now considered the gold standard imaging system for Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis.
