The second half of October 2017 saw Dr Paige Little leave sunny Australia to work with collaborators at the Human Movement Simulation Laboratory at the University of Stuttgart as part of an ATN-DAAD research collaboration grant. This work focuses on amalgamating our FE Spine modelling capacity with their advanced muscular simulation software and is progressing well. The Stuttgart Lab director, Assoc. Prof Syn Schmitt visited Brisbane in May 2016, followed soon after by two of his research students who undertook 3 month research placements supervised by Dr Little to further the capabilities of the computational spine model. Further strengthening our collaboration with our German partners, Dr Little now welcomes Mrs Maria Hammer, a PhD student with Prof Schmitt, who Dr Little will supervise in Brisbane on the joint project for the first half of December. More news from Dr Paige Little soon!
