Brisbane Regional Meeting of ANZSB

BSRG members were pleased to present their work at the Brisbane regional meeting for the Australian New Zealand Society of Biomechanics (ANZSB) on December 3, 2020.  Professor Peter Pivonka, President of ANZSB, presented a keynote on the formation of the International Training Centre (ITTC) in Joint Biomechanics at QUT, Brisbane in 2020.  BSRG postdoctoral researcher Edmund Pickering and PhD student Corey Miller presented their latest research on bone’s adaptive response to loading in the mouse tibia.  Corey Miller received the runner up award in the ‘Best Presentation’ category. Congratulations Corey!

Dr Edmund Pickering’s presentation was entitled, “The missing link in Frost’s mechanostat:  Local strain and cortical adaption in the mouse tibia”.  Corey Miller’s presentation was on “The development of a simulation platform for cortical bone adaption to mechanical loading in the mouse tibia model.”
