The BridgeTech Program invites you to attend this exclusive event to welcome the selected BridgeTech Program participants of 2019.
This event is coupled with an Occasional Seminar, featuring renowned medtech innovator Anthony Sheild from QUT. Please join us for an inspiring talk of Anthony’s technology and development of the NordBord, networking drinks, program overview and the official launch of the Online Module 1 and 2 for this year’s program.
Associate Professor Anthony Sheild
Associate Professor Anthony (Tony) Shield obtained his undergraduate qualifications in exercise science from the University of Queensland and completed his PhD at Southern Cross University after researching the neural adaptations to strength training and the methodological constraints of the twitch interpolation technique. Tony is currently working in the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at the Queensland University of Technology where he leads QUT’s Sports Injury Prevention group. He is the author of ~50 peer-reviewed papers, 30 of which are on the topic of hamstring injury. The hamstring work has focused on: 1) Neuromuscular inhibition and its role in hamstring injury recurrence; 2) Muscle architecture, eccentric strength and hamstring injury risk; and 3) Developing an evidence base for exercise selection, principally via assessing muscle activation patterns and architectural adaptations to resistance training exercises. Tony is also the inventor of the NordBord, a portable hamstring strength testing device, which has been widely adopted in elite sport in the UK, the USA, Europe and Australia.
Please share this event with anyone interested in the medtech industry.
