Mahsa obtained her Master and Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering at Sahand University of Technology (SUT), Iran and worked for two years as research assistant at Biotechnology Research Center at the SUT. Over these two years, she worked on different projects mainly wastewater treatment and algal starch and oil production.

Mahsa Abbasabadi joined the Centre for Tropical Crops and Biocommodities at QUT as PhD student in 2018. She works with Dr Mark Harrison, Junior Te’O, and Prof Ian O’Hara on microbial colonisation of low-quality forage in the bovine rumen.
