Master degree in Biotechnology from University of Queensland – Vietnam joint scholarship (2012)

Mr Tuan Tu Dam graduated from the Vietnam National University of Agriculture in 2005 with a Bachelor of Animal Science degree. Since 2006, he has worked for the Vietnam National Institute of Animal Sciences as a technical officer and researcher working on agricultural extension, local government and international projects to promote pig production and conservation of domestic pigs in rural, mountainous and remote areas. In 2012, he was awarded a University of Queensland – Vietnam joint scholarship to pursue his Master degree in Biotechnology. In 2014-2015 he returned to Vietnam to continue to do his job at Vietnam National Institute of Animal Sciences. In 2016 he received a scholarship from Vietnamese government and Queensland University of Technology (QUT) to do his PhD at QUT. His current PhD research is aligned with the Rural R&D for Profit Programme–funded Biorefineries for Profit project. The aim of his research is to develop new enzymes and microbial cells for mycotoxin degradation and the enhancement of livestock feeds based on sugarcane fibre.
