Edmund Pickering is postdoctoral researcher at the Queensland University of technology. Edmund’s work uses advanced modelling technique to solve challengers in medical engineering. Edmund’s current work investigates the mechanical behaviour of 3D scaffolds, optimisation of metamaterial mechanical behaviour, bone mechanoadaption. Edmund completed his PhD at the Queensland University of Technology, having previously completed a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) and a Master of Engineering Management. Edmund’s PhD focusing on the mechanical characterisation of nanowires through resonance techniques, combining both experimental and numerical work. This work involved extensive image processing, 3D modelling and finite element simulation. Edmund is also a passionate educator and has teaching experience in a wide range of mechanical engineering subjects. Most recently Edmund’s teaching has focused on Stress Analysis, Dynamics, Fluid Mechanics and Automatic Control. Edmund also peruses research in engineering education. If you are interested in connecting with Edmund, for collaborations or teaching purposes, he is best contacted via his email found through the contact link.
