Current Research:
The scale of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent disruption to global supply chains has led to a significant shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers treating COVID-19 patients. Hence, the goal is to develop highly novel personalised reusable face masks with modular filter housing for rapid interchanging of filter materials by using 3D scanning & printing. Furthermore, the capacity for rapidly engaging with local 3D printing community responders and establishing local manufacturing networks will be built, which can be deployed quickly in future events where supply chains are interrupted and hence, overcome supply shortages.
