QUT Resilience Centre Impact Accelerator Grant with MARS Reef Stars

Project dates: 2024 - 2025

The Bioadhesive Team is partnering with MARS to apply its bioadhesive technology to Reef Stars.

This project will:

Expand R&D of underwater bioadhesives, initially developed in the Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program to Reef Stars a primary method used for global reef restoration
The project will enable the first field trials of bioadhesives with Reef Stars in a well-characterised reef environment undergoing active restoration, and evaluating new applications of the bioadhesives
Knowledge translation by collaborating with MARS and local community/ies in Indonesia who are the custodians of their reef’s restoration.

The project is funded by QUT Resilience Centre in 2024 via its “Impact Accelerator” Application.
