Dr Marianella Chamorro-Koc is Associate Professor in Industrial Design, a design researcher and educator. With a focus on design for health, she co-creates, develops and tests health-technologies, using an ethical human-centered design framework. She investigates the experiential knowledge embedded in people’s activities and the contextual aspects shaping them. Her user-centered research is focused on the design of accessible technologies for health innovation to help people manage their health and wellbeing. Marianella leads the QUT Design Lab Designing for Health Program and is a member of Design Research Society (DRS).
Marianella’s research aligns with the BEST Center due to her focus on:
- Transdisciplinary research and methodological innovation in projects that aim to enhance service design for people’s health and wellbeing;
- Involving end-users as part of the research process to increase our understanding of people’s experiences of health and technology in order to develop scalable solutions.
