As part of the upgrade for the BEST centre to a university-wide centre, we now have a full-time centre manager. We welcomed Katie Baker to the BEST team in March 2023. Katie has been working in the education sector for over 12 years. Joining QUT less than 12 months ago as the Faculty Business and Law Coordinator, Space and Logistics, she is looking forward to the new role as BEST Centre Manager.
Katie has significant experience in relationship management, leadership and project management and holds a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Hotel Management – which fits beautifully with the activities of BEST as knowledge dissemination (education) and supporting a hospitable group (hotel management).
Before joining QUT she worked at The Smith Family and University of Southern Qld, in which she collaborated with key stakeholders in the university, industry and community to initiate, cultivate and maintain productive employer and industry relations to generate student employability, entrepreneurial mindset and employment opportunities.
