Dr Charmaine Glavas is a Senior Lecturer at the QUT Business School. Her research focuses on international entrepreneurship, the intersection between international business and entrepreneurship fields of research. She examines internationalisation phenomena that is centered on the role of decision-makers and their cognition, as a complement to firm level resources and capabilities.

Dr Glavas is particularly passionate about aiding culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) populations to overcome key challenges and initiate business ventures which extend beyond domestic markets. In addition, she is an Accredited Advanced Cultural Intelligence (CQ) Assessor, and has an interest in examining cultural sensitivity and awareness of individuals and organisations operating across international environments.

Dr Glavas has expertise in the design and implementation of qualitative research methods such as, multiple case study inquiry, narrative research and co-design focus groups. She has experience in undertaking collaborative research with industry and Government partners, including Queensland Government Department of Employment, Small Business and Training, CitySmart and Energy Consumers Australia.

She is an Editorial Advisory Board Member for the Review of International Business and Strategy and has published her work in international journals including International Marketing Review, International Business Review, Educational Research Review, Journal of International Entrepreneurship, The Services Industries Journal, Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development, International Journal of Tourism Research and Journal of International Business Education.
