Caroline Fisher is an Associate Professor of Journalism in the Faculty of Arts and Design. She is Deputy Director of the News and Media Research Centre and co-author of the Digital News Report Australia. Prior to academia Caroline was a journalist with the ABC and a ministerial media adviser. Her research focuses on news consumption, trust and political PR. Recent funded projects include: State of News in Asia – Judith Neilson Institute for Journalism and Ideas; Framing and Sharing News – Social Science Research Council; Local News Consumers – Google News Initiative; Australian Regional Journalists: what they need and how they see the future – Google News Initiative.
